*Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the collections operation by performing set-up activities of supplies and equipment at fixed sites or mobiles.
  • Perform drive support activities including discontinuing blood units.
  • Provide Post-Collection Activities including examining the collection package, packing units, transporting batches. 
  • Load and unload trucks and other vehicles, pushing carts up to 250 lbs.
  • Demonstrate excellence in customer service and public relations to promote a positive image of the Biomedical Services.
  • Set-up beds and handle many totes containing equipment and snacks for the donors and tear down and provide other related donor and operation support.
  • Will have frequent external customer (donor and sponsor) contact.
  • Complete the donor blood collection process- remove needle, wrap donor arm, discuss post- donation information with donor, and escort donor to canteen.
  • Must balance production, customer service and compliance on a daily basis to ensure integrity of products and optimum donor experience.
  • As an integral link between donors and ARCBS, must demonstrate excellent customer service.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures, Safety Quality Identity Potency Purity (SQUIPP), regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other applicable Federal, state and local regulations.

*Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • No previous experience is required.
  • However, experience in regulated environments, care of patients or donors, and/or loading, unloading/set-up breakdown is beneficial.
  • Effective verbal communication and public relations skills are required.
  • Basic computer skills desirable. : The duties above indicate the essential functions of the position.
  • Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs.
  • Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes is required.

Vaccine Mandate:
